The H.U. Group clearly states in its Training and Development Policy that growth based on the self-directed career development of each employee is the most important, essential element in the Group's sustainable growth and ongoing contribution to society. It can be said that securing and training superior and highly specialized human resources is the basis for our doing business. However, many issues are present related to human resources, such as skills transfers and labor shortages due to the declining working population. With this context, the entire Group is exploring various measures, such as talent reviews, training for manager cultivation, and training for improving specializations at operating companies. We are also focusing our efforts on promoting work style reforms so that diverse human resources can play an active role.
To implement our corporate action guidelines in practice, we strive to ensure that respect for human rights, anti-corruption and anti-bribery measures are thoroughly enforced among all employees, through the distribution of compliance handbooks and in-house training.

Training and Development Policy

For the Group's sustainable growth and ongoing contribution to society, the H.U. Group regards career and skill developments as a key theme, and provide each employee opportunities to grow and learn more, based on the Training and Development Policy “Career development based on self-reliance, self-direction, and self-responsibility” of employees.

Our company respects that employees will recognize and think about their own values and future aspirations, make and act upon choices for their self-realization, and take responsibility for their own actions.

Training System and Employees Career Development

In addition to job-class-specific and groupwide trainings, we also provide optional/company-specific specialized training or a system that encourages employee career development. Our employees are utilizing this training infrastructure to learn more and realize their own aspirations.
Furthermore, in order for employees to set their own career goals and skill development plans as well as performance goals at the beginning of each fiscal year, and then achieve these and proactively develop their careers as well as striving to achieve throughout the year, we also provide opportunities for dialogue such as the mid-term reviews or one-on-ones with supervisors on a regular basis.

Efforts

In-house college where employees can learn business"H.U. Business College"

The first term of the program started in January 2022 as the first open-recruitment program that respects their motivation to learn. Each year, different members spend a year studying basics of subjects such as logical thinking, marketing, financial accounting, management strategy, and legal affairs.
This program brings together people from various companies and organizations within the H.U. Group and serves as a place for learning that extends across the boundaries between companies, departments, and titles. In addition to fostering a sense of solidarity, we provide maximum support so that employees can raise their perspective, broaden their range of insight, and achieve the future career they envision.

First-term students

Establish and Develop a Learning Platform for All Employees toward Career Autonomy.“CAREERSHIP”/Skill Map

As well as essential training, we have developed an environment where employees can learn anytime, anywhere, such as job-class-specific training, specialized training by each company and organization, and e-Learning with over 160 courses focusing on business skills.
In addition, this platform can centrally manage the learning of all employees, making it useful as a tool for supervisors to check the learning status of their subordinates, thereby encouraging career development. Furthermore, as auxiliary tools, we have systematized the "H.U. Skill Map," which visualizes the skills required by the H.U. Group, and the "Specialized Training Program," which has consolidated expertise, skills, and qualifications for each job category, to support and encourage career development and growth of each and every employee.

DX Education

To open up new possibilities in healthcare and accelerate business reformation, we provide the "DX-promoting Human Resource Development Program," which consists of basic and specialized educations.

Provides practical growth opportunities through participation in projects that require advanced output, with the aim of systematically developing highly-specialized human resources such as the "Non-contiguous DX Human Resources," "Cross-sectional DX Human Resources," "Data utilization DX Human Resources,"

AdCareer (Internal Movility System)

Since the fiscal year of 2023, we have introduced an internal movility system consisting of a free-agent system and internal open recruitment, as a system that allows employees to have various opportunities for career development within the H.U. Group. This system provides each and every employee with the opportunity to actively direct their career and take on challenges.

New Graduate/Young Employee Training

During the first month of employment, new graduates undergo introductory training to deepen their learning of basic business skills as well as their understanding of our company, through a practical program centered on group work.
In addition, senior employees serve as mentors for new employees to provide career development and mental support as well as work and daily life support, through mentoring activities during the first year of employment.
Furthermore, we provide regular training on the theme of career development during the first three years of employment, supporting "Career Development Based on Self-reliance, Self-direction, and Self-responsibility" of each and every employee.

Managerial Training

We provide group-type managerial training aimed at improving management skills. By transmitting a message from top management about the "managerial perspective" and instilling management that maximizes improvements of the workplace environment and organizational results, we encourage participants to "improve and change their behavior." Furthermore, we have been developing a training program for general managers and managers to improve their understanding of career development support for diverse subordinates and to instill effective communication skills.
