Ideal Workplace

A comfortable environment that allows employees to engage in their work with a sense of satisfaction and security.

At H.U. Group, we are working to create a comfortable workplace environment, believing that for all employees, work in their own way with a sense of satisfaction and security will lead to "maximizing individual power."
To realize a variety of work styles that suit each and every employee’s style, we are also working to create a workplace environment as a place of communication that emphasizes connections between people and that allows mutual sympathy and improvement, in addition to improving various systems.
In addition to improving the workplace, we also promote revitalization of the entire organization by implementing events and measures that promote mutual communication.

Workstyle

Improvement towards More a Comfortable Work EnvironmentTelework Rules

  • Based on the Telework Rules, the H.U. Group as well encourages groupwide telework and still continues to develop diverse workstyles combining the free-address office or flextime system.
With the relocation of the Headquarters, the company is shifting to a hybrid workstyle that takes advantages of both teleworking and coming to work from now on, mainly at the new Headquarters.

  • Telework Rules

    • Set an upper limit of the total working hours to prevent overwork.
    • Conduct health checks for employees who work long hours.
    • Conduct checks for proper entry into the time and attendance system.
    • Conduct regular interviews with supervisors.
    • Establish consultation services for problems resulting from working hours, etc.
    • Prohibit late-night work/holiday work in principle.
  • Flextime

Each and every employee has achieved autonomous and creative workstyles that suit their own lifestyles.

  • Hot-desking

The new Headquarters, which began operations in May 2023, has offices on one floor. In addition, the hot-desking system facilitates communication that extends across company and departmental boundaries, supporting further demonstration of group synergy.

  • Dress Code-free

Since May 2023, we have liberalized the dress code (attire) for employees. Each and every employee chooses the most appropriate attire for the time, the place, and the occasion (TPO) at his or her own discretion. As individual values diversify, we aim to create an open organizational culture that respects individuality and sensibilities and that allows for creative discussions based on flexible ideas.

H.U. Bioness Complex

Charge Dining/Cafe (Welfare Building)

The "H.U. Bioness Complex," which began its operation in Akiruno City, Tokyo, in January 2022, has a dining and refreshment space that energizes employees. It offers the H.U. Group's original menu such as a wide variety of meals, freshly baked bread, freshly brewed coffee, and organic tea. In addition to meal breaks, it is also utilized for refreshment from work or a simple meeting.

“ChotChat” (R&D Building)

This courtyard facing the I-Cube was named “ChotChat” to convey the function of the place in a clear and intuitive manner, as a place where conversation can easily occur. ChotChat has a deck with tables and chairs for relaxation or a small meeting.
The conversations and ideas that emerge in this space will be one of the opportunities to create new value, when employees stop by on sunny days or for a change of pace.

Tech Salon (Test Lab Building)

“Salon” is a French word for a common room or social gathering. It expresses our wish to create a space for co-creation that transcends organizational boundaries.
It is a place where diverse work styles mingle and where employees naturally gather to engage in conversation. It also offers meeting spaces with a variety of seating options surrounded by academic journals and other books, relaxing spaces where you can take a break, individual booths where you can look up literature or do concentrated desk work, and counter seating with a great view.

Communication

Communication Promotion"Kotodama x Project"

We have been implementing the "Kotodama x Project" since June 2022 to energize internal communication and organization.
In the first year, we focused on "greetings" so that our company will grow into an organization with close communication, a vibrant company, and a company with energetic and cheerful employees.

All employees wear the "Kotodama badges" featuring the mascots every day, creating an environment where greetings and conversation occur naturally.
In the second year, we held an employee-exchange event at our Akasaka Headquarters. We promote communication by forming teams that extends across the boundaries of group companies and holding quiz competitions related to each business.

The Day When Employees Express Their Gratitude to Their FamiliesH.U. Family day

On the H.U. Family Day, employees and their families tour the facilities of the H.U. Bioness Complex to express their gratitude for supporting them. Under the concept of "see, learn, and experience,” this tour introduces the value of the Group's businesses and the work of its employees, as visitors tour the whole facility. Every time this event is held, it attracts as large numbers of people who wish to participate as a lottery is held to select participants, having earned good reception.
